I remember discovering this family of microprocessor chips last year, but I couldn't find any of them available anywhere.

It's a bit ironic to even think about these things since they were considered e-waste for the longest time so I'm not really sure what I'm expecting lmfao. But I still have the inclination to place them somewhere that isn't a desk ornament.

Is it possible to use something like a Tezro for everyday computing tasks nowadays? It isn't at all practical but its the last sgi machine to sport somewhat modern specs to deal with the maladies of the modern web.

I'm convinced that sgi collectors are really rare and far between. But it's rather the lack of places to find this stuff is the problem, and the fact that existing legacy installations that still use sgi hardware are not cost sensitive so you have listings going for huge amounts of money...

I've found that a Dell 1909 4:3 monitor works great with all my unix boxes. I have several suns of the sparcstation variety, a NeXTstation and an Octane, and that monitor has worked with all of them.

Even sun3/80's are hard to find. I haven't seen a pre-sparc sun for sale in a long time.

Although it'll be some time before I get them up and running, I don't have access to my Sun machines at the moment. I have a variety of machines to test them on though, (SS20, S1+, and an IPC).

I looked into it and on the sunhelp faq and it mentions that the TGX cards are compatible with GX.

I've got a few Sparcstations kicking around, I'll try to get this running whenever I have the chance. I always installed NetBSD on them and can never get OpenGL running on them for whatever reason, so it would be cool to see a 3D demo running on a Sparcstation :)
