It's just not that expensive to spray down your carpet, tile, desk, and everything else with a static-dissapative chemical. It's not a replacement for ESD bags, but it goes a very long way to not stressing components should you set something down or not wear a strap, etc.

I'm just hoping that the carpets in question have been heavily sprayed with anti-stat or similar conductive chemicals!

Those boxes come in two sizes, I think I must have a half-dozen of the size you picture but only one of the one almost double that size. I see some without the wooden separators, but mostly they have them.
