Capacitor damaged on a VaxStation 3100

Thank you very much!!! I should double check, but this looks like a good candidate: https://fr.farnell.com/vishay/593d107x9010d2te3/condensateur-100-f-10v-10/dp/2886955 or 16V just to be on the safe side https://fr.farnell.com/vishay/tr3d107k016c0100/condensateur-100-f-16v-10-2917/dp/1754093

Capacitor damaged on a VaxStation 3100

Thanks! And can you please measure the voltage at the capacitor? I do not have a working power supply at the moment. This way only the value of the capacitor will be missing. Or I just take more than 12V which the maximum on the motherboard and that's it? For example 16 or 25.

Capacitor damaged on a VaxStation 3100

The exact model is: 3100 M38 VS42A-BW. There seem to be no markings on the capacitor.

Capacitor damaged on a VaxStation 3100

Hi, The computer is VaxStation 3100 M38. I have recently acquired it. I think I managed to damage what looks like a capacitor with the screwdriver, so now I am afraid it will damage the mother board the moment I try to start it for the first time. Thank you all!!!

    Power Macintosh 5500 /275

Hi, I have a problem with a Power Macintosh 5500 / 275. Nothing shows on the screen. It does the start-up chime and it might actually be working, but the screen is probably dead. There is no hard drive and no battery. Here is a video...

Repair of Power Macintosh 5500 / 275 Black

I am trying to repair a Power Macintosh 5500 / 275 Black. The main problem is that nothing shows on the screen. There is no HDD, but I thought that something should still show up. The screen never blinks or gives any sign of life. There was a chime before and the floppy drive seems to work. It...

    Sun Ultra 60 questions

OK I did not realize the CPU module is that big. No, the idea is not to do anything useful. It is more of a show off of what was during this age. Just showing the old UI and some applications is cool enough for ... a retro geek I suppose. The idea is to demonstrate something for a few a minutes...

    Sun Ultra 60 questions

Thank you. I heard the original case is quite heavy. I had this idea of making a custom lighter thin horizontal case. Use Blue SCSI to reduce power consumption and smaller ATX adapted power supply to reduce size. Put or print Sun's logo on top. And put it in my living room as decoration ... :)...

    Sun Ultra 60 questions

Hi, I am thinking of acquiring a Sun Ultra 60 motherboard (only the motherboard). Is it possible to adapt an ATX power supply to power this motherboard? How is the standard used in Sun computers called? The manual says: DC output 350W (maximum) Output 1 +3.3 Vdc, 50A Output 2 +5.0 Vdc, 30A...

    Apple Performa 460 won't start

Actually my fault. I was measuring the voltages without load. When connected the power supply it worked as expected. The Mac is starting without problem. Next step is replacing the HDD.

    sm124 monitor with noise

Hi, I have a sm124 Atari hi-res monochrome monitor that produces an annoying buzz sound. It does not matter if the Atari is working or not. What can I do?

    Apple Performa 460 won't start

I changed all the radial capacitors and there was no change in the voltages: + 5.33 (instead of +5) + 11.1 (instead of +12) - 3.3 (instead of -5) There are 3 transistors that might be worth replacing.

    SYS68k CPU-6A rev 4.4 Force Computers

Thanks jxm. Looking at the documentation the names of my ROMs are: J14, J19, J73, J54. Do you know what is the execution order of the ROMs? Which ROM is loaded first? Is the second loaded automatically? There must be some organization/standard for that. I found this thread...

    SYS68k CPU-6A rev 4.4 Force Computers

Can you please comment on the EPROMS? Do you have an idea what these markings can be? Probably some custom ROMs? Just to test if the card works I will need to: - powered it on - see if these EPROMS output something on one of the serial ports ? Can I download a VMEPROM?

Here is a photo of the 4 eproms: The VMEPROM should be on one of the 4 marked SFCSMA06 ?
