Over 10 years ago, Montecarlo4Tony released a Windows 3.0 VGA driver for 8088

I wanted to see if an EGA version was possible too, but I got a bit stuck trying to duplicate the patching techniques Tony used.
I am happy to report that n0p stepped in and figured everything out. With all credits to Montecarlo4Tony for the original work, we now have an EGA driver for 8088 as well.

I do not have an EGA card to test with on my 5150, but we've tested on PCem and MartyPC. Confirmation on hardware would be nice, if anyone cared to try.

It isn't working with my 5160. I had another version that was working... I am looking for it now.

Very nice. I hadn't realized EGA didn't work with an 8088. I guess I had never tried that.
Whoa! I have an Boca EGA card that works in my 8088 Tandy 1000SX. I purchased the card back about 1987-8 along with an EGA monitor. Still have that card but the monitor is long gone. Looks like someone just reinvented the wheel,

Windows + EGA + 8088 = :(

I don't know how true my test setup is, but works here.
8088 clone chip
Paradise EGA 2a

If you're trying to set Windows up, not to replace CGA/EGA driver on already installed one, you might get lock up, as it will try to use original unpacked driver.

Edit:
I've made and attached MsLZ packed version of the driver, that may replace EGA.DRV in Windows installation files, so you can do clean setup of Windows 3.0 on 8088/EGA.
