    Overview site - PDP-1/8/10/11 replicas

Hi, I just wanted to announce the birth of our PiDP-10 replica kit, and with that, a new overview site. Because a PiDP-1 replica is coming up later this year, and so we will have a reasonably complete range of DEC's main models. It deserved a website to integrate them all into a single story...

What is this? Post Photos of Mystery Items Here (vintage computers only)

Oh, I have one: Yes, I know it says es65, so no prizes for telling it's an, er, es65. But nobody seems to know more about the machine than that it comes from Austria, manufacturer Ernst Steiner, and it is supposed to be a multi-user 6502 system. That is literally all I learned over the past...

Vintage Computer Festival Zurich: 18-19 Nov 2017

An update - next weekend is the VCF Zurich. We have a pretty good line-up of machines, see our Twitter feed for lotsa detail. For the very oldest machines - pre microprocessor - this is the line-up: Always hardest to get the mini/mainframe category filled, we're quite happy with this line-up...

    Looking to buy/build a small PDP-11 system

Hi, I just visited Joerg Hoppe, who built a project very much in this spirit as well: http://retrocmp.com/projects/lsibox In the power supply base of the unit, he added simulated storage devices using a BeagleBone. So it behaves like a pretty well-equipped 11/73 in fact! Kind regards, Oscar.

Let's share how our retro-computing place looks like....

Here is the left side of my cave... I keep the collection strictly in one room to avoid things getting out of hand. Although the S-100s live elsewhere, as things did get slightly out of hand in the end. As they do. Regards, Oscar.

PDP-6 Replica at VCF Zurich (19-20 Nov)

No pressure though. Just a lot of Swiss guys hoping to see the PDP-6 front panel hooked up and working - would be great if this is the first VCF with PDP-6,8,10,11 and 15 ready for play. Oh, propaganda opportunity:

    Vintage Computer Festival Europa - Switzerland edition: 19 & 20 November 2016

VCF Zurich (19-20 Nov) looks very promising indeed... look here (and here) to see what exhibits are coming in! We'll have you coding on the front panel of an IBM 360/30, PDP-8, PDP-11, heck, even a reproduction PDP-6! Or relax and enjoy a pretty complete collection of 1980s home computers...

PDP-6 Replica at VCF Zurich (19-20 Nov)

Hi, I'm abusing the work of Angelo for propaganda purposes, but... We hope to show his pretty amazing PDP-6 replica at the Vintage Computer Festival in Zurich next month. Amazing, because of course only 27 of these machines were made, and none of them has been in working condition since...

Atari at the VCF Switzerland - call for exhibitors

Hi, We're having a Vintage Computer Festival in Zurich on November (http://vcfe.ch) and one thing we'd really would like to add to the roster is a proper exhibit on the Atari - especially, the 8 bitters. If there's anyone here who'd like to take up an exhibit table on that, please let us know...

    Vintage Computer Festival Europa - Switzerland edition: 19 & 20 November 2016

Yay! There will be a Vintage Computer Festival in Switzerland again this year. This time, it'll be held in Zurich rather than Winterthur, in the Rote Fabrik cultural center, at the shore of Lake Zurich. There's already a nice line-up of exhibits and presentations. But as we have plenty of...

    PiDP - PDP-8/I replica kit

Hi, I just completed the design of my PiDP-8, a kit replica of the venerable PDP-8/I, after exhibiting the prototypes at the VCFeX: Now, I'm gearing up to produce a batch of kits, and I'd like to collect expressions of interest in the coming two weeks. In other words, see how much interest...

    Done! PiDP-8/I, my PDP-8 replica

Hi, I just finished the first prototype of my PDP-8/I replica, in time for the VCFeX... Based on SimH running on a Raspberry Pi, it will not be everyone's cup of tea - not Real Stuff after all. But here it is nevertheless: I wanted to make an open-source hardware kit to get myself the PDP-8...

    PDP-8/I replica- front panel questions

Hi, My budget-PDP-8/I replica is getting near to completion. Using a Raspberry Pi and a modified simh, it runs pretty well now. Just a few indicator leds are left for which I am not sure when to make them light up correctly (Ion, Data Word). I'm awaiting the acrylic front panel and an...

Olivetti M24/AT&T6300 no boot - keyboard leds blink

All, Thanks for the answers. I read before that battery leakage leads to this symptom and is tough to solve - but I could not find a description of how to try and solve it. The battery still gives 3.7v and looks completely clean. Checking the battery area on the PCB, it looks completely clean...

Olivetti M24/AT&T6300 no boot - keyboard leds blink

Hi, I think I've read all the M24 posts but could not quite get to my problem. I bought a M24 (as I really liked them back then) and: - had to unplug the hard drive as it clearly had crashed, rattling noise. - on powerup: no video (but you hear the monitor come on), no beep, keyboard LEDs...
