Midwest AMAX II+ Mac Emulator board for Amiga

I used to have one of these back in college, on my A3000, and did a ton of work on it. I started with the cartridge one (original AMAX? AMAX II?), and then got this when I upgraded to the 3000. So much better (read Mac disks from the internal floppy - so cool and so important back in the day)...

If you are still looking, I know where there are 5-10. DM and I'll send you the owner's email address.

    Midwest Tandy DeskMate 3.0 Floppies (8) - $5 + shipping?

Found these in my dad's home when cleaning it out. I don't remember a Tandy PC, but who knows. There are 8 disks, 5.25", green labels (good shape) with nice white & gray Tandy sleeves. Being 5.25, there's a decent chance they all work (1 in 3?), but I assume this software is available online for...

Open Beta for Lair of the Lich King [C128]

Really? That's good to know. I didn't even test drive 8 vs 9, and I don't have SD2IEC either. The manual does explain this, but the basic reason is this: it takes time to change into, or out of, armor, so doing so uses up one of your turns. It returns you to "real time" / main view when you do...

Yes, that's helpful. Every bit of data is helpful, even if it's just "it runs fine on my XXX". Thanks for testing!

Beta 11 - In Tinker Mode, dropped having separate B and V keys to toggle between Buy and Sell modes: the H key will now toggle back and forth. - disabled the "disable run-stop/restore key" routine, as it caused a freeze on a tester machine, perhaps due to slight differences in ROMs. - tweaked...

Open Beta for Lair of the Lich King [C128]

Beta 10 - changed splash screen "Open" to "Restore", and shortcut O to R, to better reflect what this functionality actually does: restore the last game you played, at the start of the level you died on. - If you restore a game, rather than start from new, your deepest level is never updated...

Of course, it helps to actually attach the file.

Open Beta for Lair of the Lich King [C128]

Beta 9 - minor tweaks: - added code to disable run/stop on run, and re-enable on quit. haven't confirmed it works. - reclaimed some space, so now there are more alternate movement keys enabled in main game mode. WASD, WAXD, cursors, and 8462 should all work now. One tester has raised a...

I think you have a 16k VDC. Here is the Z64K emulator running, next to your screenshot above. I have Z64K configured to 16k VDC for this shot. VICE is a great emulator, but doesn't emulate the VDC very carefully. So I think your sd2iec setup is working fine (unfortunately).

Ok, freed up a few more bytes, you can now use WASD, WAXD, cursors, or keypad 8462 for movement. In the next beta.

I don't have an SD2IEC, so can't offer any wisdom there. The blinking bits of screen doesn't sound promising though. Screenshot?

That sounds about right! I never played the Epyx Amiga Rogue version. I started on Rogue for PC, as it was the only game on my Dad's 5150. I played that a lot, I don't even know that I beat it once. Very curious how the difficulty level of Lichie plays out for you. I was aiming for...

Yes, this thing... It got done! Wow! fantastic. https://www.amigalove.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2076 You might like the attached screenshot then. Let me know when if you get past level 3 and want to do some serious dungeoneering. It does take some time to get down to the bottom and back up...

Hey AmigaLove! Cool to see you here. big fan! Did you guys ever get that crazy A1000 memory expansion thingie board going? I was reading that for a while. Phoenix Board? On the disk: yeah, basically just saying you should make a backup and run off that. I use the Uii+ to copy from USB stick to...

Open Beta for Lair of the Lich King [C128]

Yep. There's a separate post for the B-128 version in this forum, with the download. There are a few people testing it, and so far, what we learned is that SD2PET is not compatible enough with the B series/700 series/CBMII series to load files consistently. 8050 user reported success, as did...

Open Beta for Lair of the Lich King [C128]

The only limiter I have on extra keys is memory. The inventory screen is in an overlay with a lot of free space, so I was able to add more keys. The main game though has basically no bytes free, although I did free up some in beta 7 when I disabled the rest of the cheat commands. I'll see if I...

Open Beta for Lair of the Lich King [C128]

Beta 8: - built as beta 8 - added additional keys to control menu selection in Inventory mode - added g and + as alternate keys to SPACE to exit inventory and tinker modes - added more feedback when taking on or putting on armor: your new defensive rating is spelled out

Open Beta for Lair of the Lich King [C128]

Each screen is 2000 bytes for chars, 2000 for attributes=4k. 6 screens + 3 dungeons (approx. screen sized). That's 36K, plus from memory I think font reserves 4k. So doesn't need 64 technically, but 16 is not enough. Definitely making a trade off: better in-game performance rather than loading...

A few screenshots to give a feel. (these may have bugs showing, I generally only took screenshots of stuff that was breaking during my own testing)
