2nd gen Microsoft Mouse ball replacements

So this thread is for Verault but anyone else here in the future that needs a new ball for the 2nd gen MS mouse, aka this style, or even need a new ball for any the mice listed, here is an interchange of what I have available.



Original ball is 22mm, and weighs 31.56 grams

Generic Mitsuko Scroll mouse (ms-303ps00x)- 22mm 31.55 grams


Microsoft Serial- Mouse Port Compatible Mouse 2.0 - 22mm 31.33 grams
Microsoft Serial- Mouse Port Compatible Mouse 2.1a -22mm 31.50 grams


Microsoft Intellimouse 1.1a - 22mm 31.75 grams


Compaq Mouse (MO42KC) - 22mm 31.45 grams (note: mouse ball is black and not grey)


Generic "Browser Mouse" (feels like the OEM for compaq 486 era mice)- 22mm 31.45 grams


GE Mouse (WK2703) (perhaps EMC relabel) - 22mm 31.52 grams


Generic Mouse ( SAGM002) (also relabeled as Emachines and HP) - 22mm 31.51 grams

All Logitech ball mice checked so far are 22mm, but too light at 8 grams.

Still have my extra 1" ball; plenty heavy. I won't have it too much longer, however--I'm developing a relationship with the trash can for odds and ends that I'll never use. Old age has that effect--once you get a glimpse of the horizon, you start asking serious questions.

P.S. Anyone in the market for a beautiful Bulgarian double-bass? About 20 years old.

Weird I guess there are 2 different revisions of the mouse ball then , here are pics of my mouse, and it has the same size ball as one I sent you.
