I need some advice how to remove these chips without too much damage to the PCB.
The card is a Everex EV-159
I have not done anything to it yet except dusting and a little rubbing with ISO. I'll remove the bracket and deal with that later.
Both chips and the resistor pack are effected.
There is no visible rust on the back side.
I only have 74LS10 on hand will they be ok , or do I need to get f series?
How to ID the resister pack? I have never had to order one before.

Thanks

i'd be giving it a good sqirt of CRC5.56 if it were me me first and let it soak in for an hour or so. It'll soften all the crud up on the pcb up.

Thanks for the quick and helpful reply.
That stuff is not that easy to find here is the USA.
$92 for a case of 12, not sold separately on Amazon.

I have this
in my shed. Not sure what it will do the PCB and traces.

Personnaly I'd certainly give it a give it a shot it I had some laying around. Flush with water then IPA or similar and dry off. Test first on a portion of pcp without traces present or a junk pcp if you want to be coursiuos and for peace of mind..;)

You'll find the rust treament will turn any steal rust black (like on the backplate) and the remainder my have a thin clear film. Not unlike lacquer and it is fine to paint over....

I've sent quite some time (40 odd years) in and around aircraft and related maintenance industries. It was called Black Guard back then. I use the Aussie equivalent called "quick" my motorcycle projects such as the inside of fuel tanks and component mounting brackets. Get it from Bunnings hardware store 1/2 walk up the road. Give the container a good shake before using as the active ingrediant seperates from the water and settles at the bottom of the container if left in storage a long period of time.IMG_20230615_171934.jpg

By the part number on it.

'Resistor network' and 'resistor array' are the normal names for these things.

Using the part number online will reveal the value of the resistors within the network, package type, pin count, configuration, power rating, etc.
Configuration examples pictured below.

Different makers often have different part numbers for the same item. An example of that is shown at [here].

The pink jelly seemed to work.
Lots of water, and several days of sunshine.
The card seems to work as is. No replacement parts needed.
All pins are dull, but continuity is good.
I did not think this card would be any good, but 2 5.25" full height drives like it. (debug LLF, etc)
I will save this card to later.
Thanks all !!

That pink jelly you an get at the hardware store that removes rust.
Navel Jelly I think it says. It is a product that has been around for a long time.
