Hey, I'm trying to get these things out of my house, and was pointed here. Looked over the rules, hopefully I'm doing this right.

I've got two eight inch floppy disk drive units - one ~4U rack mount, the other a desktop model. I don't know if they work. I don't even know for certain that they're both floppy drives, to be honest. I know that they are heavy, one has a wide ribbon cable, and the other says "Lobo Drives". I've pulled them out of a back corner of my basement - I don't even know why I had them in the first place - and given them a quick wipe down.

I don't want money for them, and I'm not going to ship them any farther than my driveway. I just want someone to come and take them, because I really don't want to send them off for recycling.

Please let me know if you're interested, or if I've run afoul of local customs in some way.

Update: these have been rescued, and are no longer available from me. Thank you all for your interest!

Indeed! For reference, the 4U rack-mount chassis contained a Persci 277 FDD (dual single-sided soft sector floppy; voice coil positioning), power supply, and a quite substantial mouse nest. Fortunately the storage position kept the nest away from the FDD and it appears that only the controller cable was damaged. Three loose floppies are grossly OK; included listing for one that suggests CP/M but no other information suggesting a specific host. The chassis looks to be a home-grown concoction from various cobbled together scraps. The desktop unit appears to have been from a Lobo MAX-80 and contained a pair of Shugart SA800-2 FDD (single-sided soft sector), plus power supply. The case was clean inside and both FDD appear to be in good condition. Still, everything needs a cleansing!
