So it _does_ work...
I have been made aware that there might be issues with some programs...but this adapter pcb does work in a C64.
...or in this case my C64 reloaded MKII.
see photos.
I'll be making another one jumpers configured to replace the cpu in a C16 when I have time.
I'm well impressed with this project from Monotech.

Round 2
I built up another one of these converter kits ...
This time configured to replace the cpu in a C16/plus4.
It boots just fine.
see photos.
appologies for quality this time.
never easy grabbing photos from a CRT.

I'm thinking that even if these sustitute CPUs aren't 100% compatible...they will make great diagnostic tools...
rather than risking rare/expensive originals.

just received my C64 wedge psu pcbs....from PCB Waaaaay
already have one built up.
Soon I hope to have a replacement I can trust with an accurately regulated 5.2v out ...and I'm going to fit a small rocker switch on the mains input ..plus a red indicator led.
