For people interested in building/repairing S-100 systems Andrew at N8VEM and I at S100Computers.com have just completed a prototype of a new S-100 Serial IO Board utilizing a Zilog Z85C30 UART. The board also has a V-Stamp voice synthesizer and DLP USB port controller and two parallel ports (8255).

If you would like to read about this board please look here:-

There is a growing list of people getting interested in these S-100 systems. We get these bare boards produced in batches (typically $20-40, depending on demand). So if you would like to be kept in the loop as this board evolves you need to contact Andrew or me.

Hi! I ordered a batch of S-100 IO board manufactured PCBs. They should be here in early September 2010 or so. I'll let you know when they arrive. Please contact me if you would like to be added to the waiting list.

Thanks and have a nice day!

Hi! The S-100 IO board PCBs arrived and most are gone already however there are a few left. The PCBs are $20 each plus shipping. These boards should be useful to anyone trying to build their own S-100 system from scratch or restoring a vintage machine.

The S-100 IO board is one of the three "core" boards you need to get a minimum system up and running -- CPU, RAM, and serial IO. That's not enough to run CP/M or any sophisticated OS but enough for a boot/debug/monitor program to get going and make sure the rest of the system works.

Please contact me if interested. Thanks and have a nice day!

PS, the second S-100 Z80 CPU board is also ordered so soon we should be seeing results of the second build and test phase. Assuming that goes smoothly we should be seeing S-100 Z80 CPU boards in the not to distant future.
