AHA-1542CP HDD MAX SIZE

Hi,
I have this card aha-1542cp on 286 16bit isa.
What is the maximum disk size I can use with this card?
I have a 9.1gb scsi drive.

BIOS permitting, that card is late enough to do the job (i.e. supports 12 byte CDBs.

But also remember, if you're running anything like MS-DOS (assuming that because it's a 286), you'd still be limited to at best 8.4GB (natively) due to the OS.

I have installed and configured aha-1542cp on dos 6.22 from my 286.
disk is scsi 9.1go,
i have partitionned and formated the disk with fdisk but i see only 2.1GB in fat16 ?
how do i do for see the rest of disk ?
i must create extended partition from fdisk ? (max 5.2go it seem).

FAT16 can not use partitions greater than 2 GB. So you need to create a couple to use all the space.

Specifically, you'll need a minimum of 4 partitions, each 2.1GB each. But due to "slack", it'd be more efficient to have smaller partitions...say 500MB each. That's going to be a drive with labels C: thru R:. (maybe S: )You'll still lose anything beyond the 8.4GB DOS limit.
