Altair font design

Since there is no true Altair 8800 font out there (some close but not exact) I decided to create one for fun. Let me know how it looks and any changes to any of the characters before my 15 day trail of the software runs out

Nicely done! How did you decide which parts of the character were to be thin and which thick?

Mostly guessing and just looking at the other characters. Some characters I was able to import, then modify slightly to be the new character. If you look at the 8800 manual, the font is different than the front panel! This really made things difficult. I only had the few characters to go by. Uppoer and lower case is identical.

So have you actually made a font file (I think it's *.fnt or *.fon) yet?

Yeah, it's a ttf file format. I need to clean it up a little but it is more or less done. Unless people think that some of the characters are off or don't match.

Looks cool Vince! One thing though is I think the Q looks a little funny.

Indeed. Your Q will look like an O on smaller fonts.

That's pretty nice.

As you can see, your C, N, and U are slightly different than the "official" font.
