So now that I figured out how to make working Amiga floppy disks with my Kryoflux I want to make sure both my floppy drives are working. I bought a replacement drive for my internal drive; I was using the drive out of my 1010 external as an internal drive for a bit. The 1010 used to work (last year). Now when I try it (either internal or external) you can hear it try to work but it wont read anything.
Anyone fmailiar with these 1010 external drive units? I am not sure if the drive mechanisms are the same or not But mine is model M57BCL-2 (made by Mitsumi) There are some sites that refer to this as model D357
There are a bunch of small through hole electrolytic caps. Are these usually the culprit? No evidence of leakage. I dont remember if I changed the drive ID but its set to DS0
