Apple IIgs Dyna Comp LR 38879 power supply recap questions....

I am trying to open the pdfs in this file but they are showing up corrupt. Did you try and open this?

edit: website crashed when making an edit./ I will have to remember what I typed... So I dont like cap kits.. They usually have no instructions and they dont cover all the caps. Its up to the seller to pick and choose what they add.. Cap kits are like a "tune-up" on a car. For the most part the term is make believe. A tune up can be wiper blades and a new alternator belt. Its just easier to source the caps you need yourself.. ITs easy, your smart enough to have written things down so you are more than capable.

Again a blown rifa wont take out the psu... at all. The problem with your board (have worked on a bunch of them) is there is no silk screen. so I am assuming your board was still working when you got into it and made changes. Did you take photos? Without photos and no silkscreen you could have easily reversed a cap polarity. I highly recommend you re-trace your steps. Maybe even undo the changes. However if you dont have photos on polarity.. dont bother that might just get you more lost. We need a schematic to verify the cap polarity. Can you at least make a dot with a marker on each cap you replaced so it will be easier to check?
Hi - I always take a pic before I do the work, and I replaced all the caps on the board, including the RIFAs. I've checked the polarity against the original picture, and also the schematics, and they're in as they were originally.
I just opened the .7z file and all the files inside opened fine. I could also try to attach the files here:

Okay maybe we need some backstory. What was happening before? Were you using the machine when the suppression capacitor blew? It can be alarming if you're not used to it but the machine would still remain running. Up until the time the suppression capacitor blew did you have anything up on the screen? I take it you turn the machine off and then planned on replacing all the capacitors and never used it until you replace them is that correct?

Shorted from both anode to cathode and from cathod to anode when you flipped the leads?
Yep - two beeps on the diode check with a reading of .002, which is the same as touching the leads together. I tested that same diode on a working power supply and it's the same reading.

Well they wont extract on my end. I tried several times. I am using winzip and winrar. Both report errors. maybe someone else can give it a shot.

Ok, so I got this power supply in an Apple IIe platinum machine. The machine wouldn't power on, just flicker the power light and the LED on the mainboard. There were several cards in the IIe. I pulled the supply out and tried a working supply and the machine started right up. So I had this PS pulled for recap, which I did. But it's still doing the same thing.

Very strange. I'll just put up the PDFs then for you - the parts list is an .RTF file, and this won't allow me to attach that one. Well, maybe I could make it a PDF as well. Let's see:
