I always wanted to mess around with Nextstep or openstep and after doing some reading I found that they made a x86 version.
What all kind of apps aside from what was shipped with Nextstep and openstep are there for it? I'm going to guise that the x86 version does not have much anything for it.
And what hardware is supported by Nextstep and openstep?

Thanks.

P.S.
I hope I posted this in the right spot.

Two major software packages for Nextstep were Lotus Improv and Framemaker though both were available on other platforms as well. Lighthouse's office suite got opened up (in another of Sun's inexplicable business decisions); see http://www.nextcomputers.org/NeXTfiles/Software/NEXTSTEP/Apps/Lighthouse_Design/ Check with the Nextcomputers forum. I think there were a few lesser titles and someone else will remember them.

Although I haven't actually run the x86 version myself, it seems to be pretty well tied with 68k (if not actually a little ahead of it) for the title of best-supported architecture on NS/OS. Though I've been pleasantly surprised at how many developers just built everything as full fat binaries with support for 68k, x86, SPARC, and PA-RISC.
