In the AT&T PC 6300 Plus Product Announcement, an upgrade is mentioned for the original AT&T PC 6300 models:

A PC 6300 can be upgraded to a PC 6300 PLUS with a simple replacement of boards—yet another proof of AT&T's commitment to protect customers' investment in hardware as well as software.

this website mentions:

It had special expansion slots that could be used to turn it into the 6300+, which would run AT&T UNIX, or install expanded memory boards (usually required to run AT&T UNIX :) although the memory could be used as EMS under DOS)

However, upon looking through the standard documentation, I am not finding anything about doing a conversion from a regular 6300 to a 6300 Plus. Is the "upgrade" simply referring to adding the AT&T Enhanced Memory Expansion Board? I was recently able to acquire a PC 6300, and was interested in running System V Unix on it, but I can't find much information, so I need some help. Thanks.

There is no exact equivalement from Olivetti with a 286 CPU in the M24 chassis. So I don't think that this upgrade really existed. The 286 machine from Olivetti is the M28 (and M28SP, M280 with higher clock speed) which has a different chassis, and I don't think that the M28 mainboard would work in the M24 chassis (with the M24 OVC graphics) and it also does not make much sense as the M24 bus-converter has proprietary 16 Bit slots, not compatibe to 16 Bit ISA.

Because the 6300 plus is a 286, the "replace a few boards" comment is referring to replacing the motherboard itself, and adding the extended memory card.

The AT&T 6300, 6300 WGS, and 6300+ cases are all extremely similar; I can't get my 6300 plus out to check right now, but is it possible that the motherboard would fit?
