I'm looking into possible meeting places in SF and the peninsula, so will let you know if I find anything promising. Also spoke to another person interested in the meetup and I know a few others I could contact.

I set it so that I need to confirm membership requests, this will help me weed out spammers and other such non-genuine people.

I think my workplace has some sort of procedure for requesting space for after-hour extra-curricular activities, when I get a chance I might look into that.

North San Jose, which might not be a bad spot if anyone else from the SB gets onboard.

I have been poking around and it looks like it might be a little less than trivial to get space, but I'll send an email or two just to make sure it's not a dead end.
