Blurb on incorrect information about some Real-Time Clocks....

I'm confused, this looks like it's supposed to be a private message.

No, I was digging around to see if a printout on the MM58167 RTC was up, and noticed some inaccuracies...

Mind you I had copied a Byte article from January 1984 about working with the AST Research adapter RTCs, then to see that someone on Wiki thinks they were introduced to the PCs by the IBM AT...

I ran across a PDF file titled "64-265 KB Switch Settings" while looking up some info I had collected for another project I was working on in my 5150. This may help. There is also the same file for 16 to 64KB boards too. I would add them here, but they are too large to attach to these posts. I will be glad to email these to anyone who needs them though. I have a complete list of IBM documentation I will be using on my new web page when I finally get the domain issues resolved. In the meantime, please feel free to request these documents. I will reply as soon as possible, usually within a day.

Hope this helps.

Tezza, you say that the 58167AN in your Kaypro is trapped in the 20th Century, but you just have to poke the correct value in the right location (that particular RTC chip does roll over the century information correctly, but most vintage clock drivers don't like this century, easy enough to put in by DATE$ in BASIC)...

Ah, ok. So it's not hardwired. It's the software. Ok, I'll correct that. Thanks.

Tez
