I have an AM27S21 bipolar PROM that I need to dump and looking through my list of supported chips, my Data I/O 29B with the Unipak 2 will support it as Family code 16, Pinout code 01.
Now I'm sure to read it is the same as reading an EPROM (copying from the device to ram, then sending the contents of ram out the serial port, or to a new chip in the socket) but I've never tried with these smaller PROM devices. I am reading the manual for the 29B and the Unipak 2 but in case I've glossed over it is there any warnings I should know about regarding potentially damaging the chip's contents during a read?
