Has anyone ever encountered this error and if so how did you fix it.
It seems to happen mainly on my IBM-PC and it is not on all files.
seems to be files I have added. Any advise would be appreciated.
I am running DOS 5.0.

I got that from MSD simply because my 5150 only had its base 256KB at the time. Being short on memory will cause that error...

System has 640k RAM in it by way of ast 6 pakplus. The EXE corruption
makes since but is also happening to Norton SI.COM.

I don't have SI.COM at my fingertips, but have a look at the file. Does it start with the characters "MZ"? If so, it's really an .EXE file and is treated as such by DOS (one of those little undocumented DOS tidbits).

This sounds pretty odd. Did you use illegal characters anywhere? Are these executables actually executable? Did you make a typo? I'd say that since the computer obviously works to some extent, then there must be a problem with the name or the file.

I guess if corruption were at play, it could even be corruption from the hard disk itself ... or maybe an ancient virus? :D

Flaky floppies. Copied SI.EXE (not si.com ,my mistake) from another floppy
and it worked fine. Guess I may need to throughly check out my floppies
to see which may have some bad sectors or what not. So I guess problem
sloved for now. Thanks to all that replied and offered suggestions.:)
