Celebrations! The Tandy 1000 TL is functional again. The Tandy sees its 1 GB Compact Flash card and the 2 MB of EMS RAM. The Network card still works, but says it has a memory address of 0xD400 Still. The Tandy seems slower than in the past. I have not ruled out a conflict between the EMS card and the Network card. But Wolfenstien runs again. It sees the EMS RAM in the system, as does the MEM command. The question is now - how to get the most out of the Tandy for what it is, and what it has.

I got the EMS card for a few reasons:
1. I understand the Tandy 1000 TL is effectively an 8086 Motherboard with a 80286 CPU. It has no A20 Memory handler, and therefore, cannot use UMB or XMS.
2. I wanted to offload some functions that are memory resident such as the IP Stack for WATTCP to this card. I believed doing this would free up more Conventional RAM for other uses/
3. I have at least a couple programs that explicitly say they support EMS. Wolf3D Being one of them, but for some reason Wolf3D is actually slower. have I done something wrong?

Future, mostly software Projects:

I would like a way for the Tandy to Participate in my CALDAV based eGroupware service.
Parallel Port and Joypad adapter?
Ages ago, I had an addin card that gave the Tandy a real Parallel port and Joypad port. Since that slot is now used by the EMS, what are some alternatives?

Excellent news! Doesn't the TL have five 8-bit slots in it? Sounds like you have the RAM card, XT-IDE and a LAN card installed. What is preventing you from installing an 8 bit serial/parallel card?
