I scored a C128 with a defective "color chip" (that's what was written on the c128 on a piece of paper). It's my first c128, does anyone know where I can find parts to repair it ? (web stores, etc)

Thanks !

People often sell various vintage consoles/computers "for parts" on Ebay, so you might be able to get a broken C128 on the cheap and take what you need to repair it and store/resell the rest.

I'm not sure what that would be. The C128 has two video chips, a VIC-II for 40 column graphics and a VDC for 80 column ditto. Both operate in colour if you use the right cables and monitors. If you get a steady picture but no colour, you may either use an incorrect setup or some supplying components around the chip are bad. At least the VIC-II should have two adjustable pots/caps of which one determines the amount of chrominance (colour).

You may want to look up some schematics, or of course replace either of the video chips as a whole.
