The mouse just has this "Commodore A18072173" on the underside so can anyone tell me what it is?

Amiga ?

C64?

Are c64 mouse (1350/51) plugs both stubby?

At least my 1351 just says 1351 on the underside. I suppose if you're curious you can disassemble it and take a picture of the inside. The 1351 has a custom chip, MOS 5717 which an Amiga mouse will lack.

They do say 1351, usually the ones with the long model numbers are Amiga mice (also nice to have).

I have a couple of "Eclipse" mice which have a switch which enable them to work on either an Amiga or Atari ST. I believe they only switched or reversed one connector.

If what you say is true, that would mean they'd also be able to work on a multiple number of Commodore machines. I was under the impression that the 16-bit machines funcioned differently than the 8-bit machines. Having tried an 8-bit Track-Ball on an ST I found it's
speed of movement was very slow. There must also be another connection line which plugs into a slower interupt-based DMC.
