About a month ago i was given a cm-141 (1802) goldstar monitor for free... Thought it would either look good with the plus 4 since it had a dark case, or if nothing else use it to hook up generic devices to.
Upon hooking up a source to it and powering on, the audio can be heard, but no high voltage and the HOT is making a high pitched squeal. (no high voltage that i can tell, and no heater glow on the neck of the tube). when powered back off the heat sink that the hot was screwed onto was hot as hell.. thought at first that it might be shorted, so i broke out my fluke 175 and went to test the internal diode and is still tested good.
Didnt know if anyone has been down this road before with one of these and might know what to look for.
the schematics for this monitor are available online although i dont have the like in front of me at the moment.
have been just randomly checking diodes on the pcb until someone points me in the right direction

No idea but I believe I have the same monitor, so if I can test anything for you without having to tear the bugger open (I am way too lazy to open a working monitor, sorry) just ask.

well it turns out the h.o.t. is fine, but getting very hot because of a load somewhere in the H sweep section which is keeping the flyback from powering up... trying to pin it down but still cant seem to find it.
