...but can't you replace a pair of 2316s with a 2532 the same way the OP did with his 6540s? I did the same thing with my 6540 2001 but never had a 2316 version to try it on, but offhand I don't see why not?

Firstly I have custom ROM adapters so anything is possible for me. :D however I cannot see why the 2316 variant cannot get similar treatment.... p18 has BA11 and p20 has the nSEL line... that's all you need.
