Compaq LTE Elite 486 4/75C - upgrades?

Yeah Compaq had a weird setup! The following link has a lot of software for the LTE Lite:

If you run the attached file, it will create two bootable diskettes which will allow you to install the "bios" onto your HDD. You may need to manually create a second partition on the HDD though as the diskette is not that smart! Let us know how you get on!

I'll have a look at it, thanks for the link! - if it involves having to re-partition though I probably won't bother until the next time I actually need to do that. Getting all the software set-up again would take a good few hours I'd rather not spend on that...

You may be lucky ... if there is enough unpartitioned space on the disk the the programme will use that. Worth a try!
There are utilities that will resize a partition even if its formatted with data.

He could do that so there is leftover space, I can’t imagine Compaqs bios requires more than 5mb, likely a lot less.

I connected the Compaq hard disk to my PC using an IDE to USB convertor, and then used AOMEI to partition the disk if I remember correctly. And Rmay is correct, I think the bios requires 5MB so I would try the setup diskette first as there may well be that amount of unpartitioned space on your disk anyway.
