I got a Compaq Plus luggable last week knowing it had display problems. I started my diagnostics by taking out all the non-compaq adapter cards and the monitor started to work fine. Then (I could kick myself) I tried adding the adapters back in one at a time to find the bad one. When I hit the bad one the monitor no longer works and removing the bad adapter does no good anymore. So I have a real repair job to handle now. I have tried cleaning and reseating all the monitor related connectors to no avail. One thing I noticed is that I don't see any heater glow comming from the crt. I even turned out the lights at night to try and see it. There is only a small section of the crt's glass tube showing near the tube connector. Can I take the absence of heater glow to mean that either the crt is bad or I don't have power to it? I have been unable to definitifly rule out power problems as none of the connectors give any indication of what volts on what pins. Any help would be appreciated. Buddy
