Monday Feb. 6 will be the 100th issue of Computer Collector Newsletter!

If you haven't yet signed up for this excellent source of Vintage Computer information then you are missing out. It's not too late, however, and now would be a great time to start!

The 100th issue will be much longer than usual.

Also, the newsletter is up to 920 subscribers worldwide and they are gunning for 1000! Please spread the word!

Ok this book looks cool and I want to support it. Hopefully it will grow in popularity. However, I dont think theres many of us classic computer collectors around!
 
The nice thing about ClassicCmp is that you can immediately delete 3/4ths of the messages because they relate to big iron that I'll never have. :)
 
How d'ya do that, Mike? I was getting the mailing list in 'digest' form, where all the messages were delivered together in one big email. I couldn't delete the individual messages, just the whole thang. (I too, had to unsubscribe when it got to the point where I had no time to read it).

The ISBN for Michael Nadeau's book is 0764316001 ... of course, all it took to find out was an Amazon search. ;)

My newsletter does not participate in any Amazon or B&N affilliate programs. We tried that once and sold two books in about six months. So we stopped.

FYI, Mike is the first one to acknowledge that while his book is awesome as a reference / encyclopedia of sorts, its price guide is quite outdated. The prices were determined back in '02 or so. But don't let that stop you. I find myself reaching for this book on my shelf a LOT as a reference guide.

PS - to user 'Computer Collector' - If you don't mind, I'd like to include your quote of "I clicked on the website and it looked pretty cool" in the reader feedback section of the newsletter. With those quotes I always include the person's first name and initial of their last name. What's yours?

How often do they have an issue Erik?

I vagerly recall some online magazine wanting some programs - unfortunately I can't remember which one - I don't think they used them though - even though they were quite good programs. But it was at a time when they were starting up. Couldn't be this Newsletter though, unless they have a Newsletter every week or something!

Evan gets them out pretty much weekly, but I don't think he's ever published any programs.

Pity, it's something I really missed from the good ol' days of computers &
magazines. Sure it was even better when the programs didn't have Bugs
in them! ;-)

Nowdays with the aid of electronics & Emulators you can simply cut &
paste the program into a file & open it into the emulator. People can
hardly learn about the workings of a program when they do that though!
