Hi all,
I've started restoring this '70s acoustic coupler. It was quite extensively damaged internally during transport, since the heavier boards broke the backplane's connectors and traveled floating inside the wooden case.
I would like to find any information about this modem, a few searches on google only are able to find images of this device, but no manuals, schematics or any other information.
It's mainly made with discrete transistors (MicroElectronics MAxxxx, MExxxx, one that I remember is MA8001, no datasheet found about these also). It has however two ICs, one 741 opamp, with a 1974 date code
and an XR210 with 1981 date code (socketed). Now the XR210 could have been replaced sometimes in 1981, since it seems largely unlikely that such an acoustic coupler would still be made in the '80s (I have 1980's acoustic couplers too and they are the "classic" small plastic ones).
So, does anyone have old datasheets related to these components? I would be interested in knowing when the XR210 was introduced for example, and when the ME,MA transistors were "popular" (at least in the UK).
Any other info is obviously appreciated.
Thanks
