OK,

I have access to some DEC equipment that needs to go to a deserving home (i.e. yours).

Cost - a donation to charity.

UK only and I am not delivering...

There may be some other stuff available at the time of collection for you to pick through. I have removed from the list stuff that I am interested in. But there will be too much for my hobby room - so some of it will have to go as well.

Note that disk drives will be removed from equipment. If you fancy trying to get it going - and we can wipe this disk drives - you can have them as well.

Code:
QTY ITEM
4 VaxStation 4000/60
3 Digital Storage Expansion SZ12
2 DEC Repeater 200
1 Digital DSRVW-YC DECServer 700
1 VaxStation 4000/90
1 MicroVax II
1 Microvax 3100-80
1 Microvax 3300
1 Digital DELNI-BB
2 H4005?
1 Multimodem II
1 Digital TK70 Tape

Don't ask me any questions - the list contains all I know about it!

At the moment I need a YES/NO by Monday morning (10:00 AM) on the 19th September 2020...

Anything on the YES list I will try and hold back. Anything on the NO list - well, you know where it is going...

Dave,

Since it is you I will ask if there are any TK70 tapes.

Do you want the TK70 drive (even if there are not tapes)?

Dave

How long would you be able to hold for ?

And is the 3300 in a cabinet with a 240 supply ?

mine is 110V and blown :( so I could take that too as spares.

Hi Dave,

I would be interested in a Digital Storage Expansion SZ12.

Its interesting how things turn up all at once. I've just rescued a load of Alpha's and a Vaxstation 4000 model 90 and VT420 and VT520 from our office that was closing. I gave three of the Alphas to a member of VCFED. Sadly I didn't have time to recue three Alphaserver 1000's and a 2100. They'll have been recycled now:(

Thanks,

Paul.

So, I shall tell the customer that we want the lot and how long can he hold on to it before it has to be collected. That should save it all from the recyclers and give us some time to organise collection.

I have a few people wanting one bit of the pile - and someone else willing to take what's left. So, hopefully, it will all go to good and deserving homes! I will let you know via PMs what I arrange tomorrow (Monday) or Tuesday.

If possible, I will try and call in a favour and try and get it all off their site and into somewhere else where it will be a bit safer...

There will be more of this to come in the future - just not sure when at the moment.

Dave

A bit later than anticipated - but I have just heard myself about the collection arrangements.

Whatever people have asked for is generally available.

Equipment is available for pickup in the Lancaster/Morecambe/Heysham area (just off the M6 Junction 34) on Thursday 17th September 2020 *** ONLY ***. Just post a YES or NO on VCFED.

Gary has probably already guessed where to pick it up from :)...

Dave (G4UGM): I will post your TK70 tape (or tape+drive) (or whatever it turns out to be) to you separately if you don't want to make a trip especially for that.

I will send you all a PM with details of what you can collect and the address to collect it from.

The charity to donate money to is Prostate Cancer UK (https://prostatecanceruk.org/). I will leave it up to you all to individually organise a suitably-sized donation on trust...

There is some more equipment for me to have a look at that week, so there may be a future list of items for collection.

I will answer (in the PM) the odd query that people have asked me - and no, there are no teletypes available :-(...

I will need to know pretty quickly if you can or can't pick-up on that date.

Dave

Hum, think I know where this lot came from :)

I can give a hand on the 17th. Can hold some items as well for people if they can't manage that date.

I am away until the 16th

#### edit ###

Not in Lancaster until Thursday mid day. What time are you thinking ?

Gary,

I thought you would...

The equipment is being moved to offsite deliveries first thing Thursday morning. Equipment can be picked up from there any time from (say 10:00) until they close I suppose.

I will be onsite on Monday for the week anyhow.

Thanks for the offer to hold some items if necessary.

Dave

PMs sent to everyone who requested equipment.

Dave, I will put yours in the post - once I find out what it is...

Dave

Just a "heads up".

The approach road to the power stations is closed and a diversion is in place.

The diversion still takes you past goods inwards. The 'little hut' is still in the middle of the road - it is just that you are passing it from the opposite direction (i.e. just before you get to the power station itself).

Dave

I can't take photographs (there is a reason) - but I am sure that some will appear from the recipients in due course :).

Incidentally, the road diversion has gone today!
