I bought this floppy drive tester on the bay. It seems to work just fine, except I don't have the manual. I've looked online at the usual places to no avail. If you have a manual for this I'd like to get a PDF of it. If you'd like to sell the manual, I'd be open to that as well. If you have the manual and don't have the time to scan it, send it to me, I'll scan and return it.
Thanks,
Kipp

Necropost time!

Did you ever find a manual for this tester? I just bought one; possibly the other one offered by the same seller, since it was listed as "one sold, one left" with a 2011 date on the pictures.

Nope never found one. I have used some of its features to check floppy drives. I imagine that it can be used with a floppy alignment diskette, but I haven't tried that yet.

I don't have any floppy alignment disks yet, but I will probably get some before long. I figured that an exerciser like this one might be more convenient to use than other alternatives at my disposal.

I received my exerciser. The basic features seem straightforward, but I still hope to find documentation to figure out the less obvious stuff.

I stumbled across this thread while looking for information about two items that I recently acquired - a Digiac 5502 monochrome monitor exerciser and a Digiac 5503 dot matrix printer exerciser. They were given to me by a friend whose former workplace used them years ago. The 5502 appears complete, and I still have a monochrome monitor in storage that I can use to test it. The 5503 has had two cables dyked off which presumably went to two connectors, probably a DB-25 to a computer and a Centronics to a printer. The 5502 has a cable for a video card and a jack for a monitor, so I am presuming somewhat similar construction for the 5503. I have old printer cables that I can put on it - I should be able to figure out the wiring. I even have two dot matrix printers here, including spare ribbons and a box of tractor feed paper. I haven't used a monochrome monitor since my CP/M days, but some of my customers still have legacy equipment that uses dot matrix printers.

These excercisers are nicely built and very solid. I do not have manuals for either of them. Both have locks but both are in the unlocked position. I don't know when I will get to dig into them - aside from several items of work queued up in the shop I have a backlog of projects, and I need to repair a few items of test equipment first.

Cool. Thanks for stopping by! I should take some pictures of my tester and post them here, though I'll probably forget. :)

I dug out a Centronics cable of about the right diameter, though not the same color as the original. Perhaps by the weekend I'll have a chance to clean them up and take before-and-after exterior photos and some of the interiors.
