By modern I mean anything with drivers for a version of windows.
The video is sometimes called SCART, TARGA, Component (but not the one on your bigscreen) or Broadcast video, even 15khz RGB Analog
In any event I am not able to get my targa card up and running, I gave it video input and it crashes out.
I have noticed relatively inexpensive video game capture devices that capture a VGA frame, I am curious if any of those cheap devices can also capture interlaced 15khz video frames.
If nothing exists (and god no I do not want RCA or NTSC capture devices because half my res is lost and colors skew)
My last option is a VGA capture card, I have a Faroudja device that upscales 512x483 interlaced to VGA (fancy scan doubler), sadly the thing is flakey as all hell in the environment I need to use it, it tends to drop a color often, not sure how to fix but it works well enough, enough of the time to make it work for this purpose if I must (but it will waste a lot of time pounding it into functionality every once and a while)
Any recommendations as to what type of card or USB device I should use? I personally prefer internal PCI or ISA cards that would function under Windows 98, 2k or XP but really anything at this point would be fine since it seems nothing much was made for capturing Broadcast TV/Targa video signals. (and no I won't spend $5k for a hi end hand made unit)
Give me a list of historical and not historical, I prefer antiques if they are reliable and have drivers, mainly because there is a chance of getting one cheaply.
I am still looking for a cheap windows 7 box but as of yet stopped at XP, perhaps not a bad thing.
Cheers
Ryan
