Do I have a "Heavy Sixer" ?

(Atari computer people are also likely to own and/or know Atari game consoles, right?)

I have an Atari 2600 console, with woodgrain and six switches.
How do I tell if this is a "heavy sixer" if I have nothing else to compare it to?

I had 2 6-switch woodgrain 2600s but sold one of them. Both were labelled manufactured in Sunnyvale,Ca. One was noticeably heavier
than the other. Problem is I can't remember which one I sold. Whether I sold the "heavy-sixer" for saleability or kept it for collectability. Bummer.

With such a large body of 2600ers out there you'd think that someone would have come up with the defining serial numbers by now. BTW the serial # of the one I kept is 47374N. I think I kept the "heavy-sixer".

Well possibly I'm non-observent but at the time I auctioned it I couldn't find any differences. Both were made in Sunnyvale and the only difference I could find was the weight, which was because of the extra shielding I guess. If I get curious enough I guess I could break it open and see what shielding it has to satisfy myself hopefully.

Ok, let me TRY and explain it.....(bear with me....I don't completely understand it myself)

If you didn't see a difference, most likely they were light-sixers. Ironically enough, it doesn't seem to be a weight difference(at least, from what I gathered...I could be wrong there)...but a visual one. The "Heavies" were made in Japan, and the angle of the upsweep was sharper than the American made ones.
The front of the unit is where it lies...the edge around the woodwork where the Atari logo is has a sharp incline, rather than a more rounded one.

At least, that's how I understand it.
 
No there was a slight difference in the weight of the 2 I had.
Since both have a mfg in Sunnyvale tag some try to palm them off as a true "heavy sixer". Possibly it was an Atari step between the ones made in the east. I had checked out the site Carlsen posted before I put the one up for auction on Ebay. Unless I made a mistake and they were both "heavy sixers".

I can see there being a difference in the shielding between the USA and the GB versions, I've seen that before on other machines. The USA (FCC) standard seems to be the stricter (more shielding) of the two.
