Dos Issue...I think !!!

I liked using the erasers that were found on those shitty erasable ink pens (80's or 90's vintage?). They were rubbery but also had some abrasive in there (would eventualy put a hole in the paper if you rubbed too much).

For cleaning gold contacts I just used a normal eraser.
 
Yep, I did the eraser trick on a keyboard ribbon cable and totally removed all the traces. That keyboard went into the trash after that. So, don't try it on those flexible ribbon cables, traces just painted on there?

I think they use a small foil conductive material and etch away the uneeded parts with chemicals.
