The topic of these DS8837 bus rReceiver chips comes up from time to time.

I bought 50 of them, "used, socket pulls" for $6 plus postage from Electronic Surplus in Mentor, Ohio.

Thanks also. I just bought a number of them and some other TTL, but they were 0.79 each (plus $42 for postage). 50 for $6 sounds like an incredible deal.

Darn. Thanks Paul for the link to the cheaper ones, I just searched and obviously overlooked the correct ones. I ordered them at night time, so I only catch up with posts here about 9 hours later, and my order had already been shipped by then. Lesson learned for me I suppose :)

It looks like that due to increased demand they now reduced the quantity from 25 to 5 but left the price at $6. :(
The new ones increased in price from $0.79 to $1.98. :(
I wonder if the seller reads this forum.

The original price was actually 25-for-$3, which was extraordinarily low -- even for untested pulls. I'd guess that whomever does order fulfillment simply noticed the sudden run of orders on that part in their various listings. Or perhaps they're using a (semi-)automated pricing algorithm like book sellers to accomplish roughly the same thing.

Sorry 'bout that. Site search turned up a half-dozen hits and you had to scan down the complete list to identify the one desired; my recollection is that the one-each listing cam first in the list ...

Yeah, I was pretty surprised when I found those @ $3 for 25. I had not heard of that company before.
