Hi,
does anyone have a dump of the rom for the 3c509b-tpo card, because the rom is defective, on several machines, the test fails at the rom level,
it's easier for me to burn it directly on the rom of the card with an eeprom programmer.
Thank you.

the ROM socket is not related to the functionality of the card. The socket is for BIOS expansion ROMs and its size and location is configurable using the 3c509 configuration program

whatever code is in that ROM may only have been useful in the machine it was previously installed in

Thank you for precision.
this model does not have a socket for a rom expansion, the rom is a 94CXX, from what I could see on google, it comes from the eeprom, "eeprom vital data test", logically if I put a rom of a card that works, should it work?

I know it's possible with a C program, by activating the service jumper, in my case I wouldn't need it because I'll burn the eeprom directly with a dedicated clamp, I've already done it several times on other cards and it works for programming this kind of chip.

currently the card is unusable, it's a shame to throw it away.

If the software for reprogramming the EEPROM data is floating around on the Internet you're probably going to need it anyway. The 94Cxx is a likely a surface mount chip and it's really designed to be programmed in place.

Yes is this, i prefere programmed it in place, because with software is more difficult, i need to compil it, solder j'umper etc ..
but for that, i need dump rom (rom.bin for example) already from another network card for this model.

Thank your for the link.
yes I know this program, I have other 3C509B-TPA boards and this tool works well, with the 3C509B-TPO board I cannot change any option, only the address, (220h, 300h..), the problem comes from the eeprom, I'm 200% sure, but I need the rom of this same card, it's the only way to fix it.

if no one has a rom dump, that's ok, i wouldn't use this board, because it's faulty because of the rom.

Oh I see now, you are refering to the SOIC-8 chip and not the parallel 28 pin EPROM socket. I have a couple 3c509 cards and a raspberry PI set up for SPI chip flashing, ill see if any of them are the model you need and get you a dump when I get home later today.

A dump will not fix your issue. These EEPROMs can only take a limited number of writes. The error you get simply means the EEPROM is no longer able to store any data. You need to replace the chip.

yes that's exactly, does that mean that I have to buy the same chip and that I have to reprogram it with the content of another rom that works? Or just replace the eeprom? the eeprom is blank at the start.

I sifted through my collection of cards and looked inside multiple PCs and I am sad to report I do not have the exact model of card you need. I have a couple 3c509B-TP, but no -TPO. I apoligize for not being able to help you with this.
