I own an Epson L2 laptop that did not boots up. When connected to the mains adapter the DC IN light turns on, but turning the switch to the ON position does nothing.
After dissasembling I found that some of the power supply board caps were damaged and I replaced the whole electrolitic caps. Once reassembled the laptop started the loading routine and while checking the RAM it suddendly stopeed and all the light were off again except the DC IN one. During the startup I heard the noise of the floppy disk and the hard disk turning but what seemed strange to me is that the rear fan turned at high speed. I guess that the fan only works if the internal temperature of the laptop becomes high but in this case was starting up.
I'll dissasembly again and disconnect the fan, floppy and hard disk and then try to turn it on to see what happens.
Have you found a similar problem with this computer ? I didn't found any diagrams or Service Manual so, I'm completely lost.
Thank you!
