I ended up getting my hands on a couple of QX-16 harddrives recently and was able to image them using my MFM emulator to dump the drives. One wasn't really that interesting, but the other one appears to have come from a system that was used by Epson of America. On that drive I found what appears to be a fully complete version of the source code for the Epson QX-16 version of MS-DOS 2.11.

Is that available? I used the QX-16 back before I transitioned to a PC. I had 3 hard-drives attached...I did spend some time searching for why it would only recognize 2 drives, and found a set of push/pop code in the boot loader that were backwards. Swapped them and wha-la 3 drives.

Oh that's interesting. I only have one hdd attached to my current QX-16 so i wasn't aware that there are issues with more then two.

The code I recovered i have posted to archive.org and can be downloaded here. It appears to be complete and capable of producing a bootable disk. though i have not yet tried booting off the disk though.

Thanks, interesting reading for sure. In Drives I meant hard drives, I did manage to add extra floppies with a manual switcher.
Also I patched "Qmodem" to the QX, basically the interrupt processor or serial port was located at a different port, then the PC
Any way after all that, it ran MSdos stuff just like a PC.
