Floppy Drive on Tandy COCO3

I sent him a coco2 with drivewire installed on a internal rom mod, and a coconet cart for the 2 or 3. And the serial cable needed.
I've got a homemade clone of the MicroSD pak, and it works well. And new ones are now in production.

Later,
dabone

That should certainly get him going...

As Lord Moz suggested, using a FD-502 controller, any PC compatible drive can be interfaced to the CoCo. If the drive can be jumpered (or modded) to be DS0 instead DS1 and provide READY signal in pin 34, it'll work using the right cable (a PC one without twisting).

I've a combo unit with a 3.5" and 5.25" drives and they work flawlessly.
I also have a 500, 501, and 502 using a 5.25 and a 3.5 inch drive. However, I want my 3.5 to be Drive 0. I have been working on this for a long time messing with twisting 12,13,14 Removing pins, Trying to solder the jumper on floppy drives. So far no luck. Have you or anyone had luck getting a 3.5 floppy drive on drive 0 ?

After 12 years I hope so! :)

In other news if you are still out there Irishmike and want to sell that Pet drive let me know.

Well, since a couple of years I'm using less and less the floppy drives and much more mass storage devices; but I've always configured 3.5 drives as drive 0 without problems, in fact all my CoCo3 floppies are 3.5!. The best advice I can give you is: use an old 3.5 floppy drive, the more, the better (if it has configuration jumpers probably you won't need to mod the drive) and a flat untwisted floppy cable.
