Does anyone know how to make the forum search feature a little more selective? If I try to search for
Code:
kim video
I end up getting a list of posts that have either "kim" or "video". Same if I try
Code:
kim AND video
or
"kim video"
There's no difference if I search from the advanced search page or from the forum page. I looked up vbulletin search, and operators like AND and OR are supposed to work to focus searches. They just don't seem to work on this forum.

It seems like being able to quote an exact phrase, and being able to use AND and OR would be very useful. Am I missing something?

The search sucks, just like in most forums. Just use Google with a query like:

"kim video" site:vcfed.org

Note that when using quotation marks, you are not asking to search for content containing both words, but for an exact match (and there aren't any).

Thanks for that suggestion. That's exactly what I have been doing, but it's a bit inconvenient to do it that way when one is already on the forum. Also, I'm not entirely certain of how thouroughly Google indexes the forum.

I figured I'd ask, since the documentation seems to suggest the behavior might be otherwise. Perhaps it's a flag in the settings that was never configured.

Most forums have a minimum character limit for searching, to keep from overwhelming the servers. KIM is too short.
