I inherited a Franklin Ace 1200 recently. It has the keyboard conductive pads with foam. As is common with these machines, they have disintegrated. I was able to get the machine to fire up, and I got Oregon Trail running by touching the pads on the keyboard pcb. Where should I buy the replacement pads at? I hear the power supply also has a RIFA capacitor. Should I replace the cap or wait until it explodes?FE6A2F07-336B-44A3-902D-427359A53384.jpeg0B1823EB-D71F-44E9-B7C6-BE88ACA506BD.jpeg

Hi! I recently replaced the pads on a recently acquired Ace 1200 -- I used the pads from texelec.com. They are a little spendy, but they worked great and were relatively easy to install: Capacitive Pads for KeyTronic & BTC Keyboard Repair

There is a great video from @misterblack here: Franklin Ace 1000 Repair: Motherboard and Keytronic keyboard

As for the the RIFA cap -- I would definitely suggest carefully opening and inspecting the power supply. My 1200 did not have a RIFA, but I know they were common in early models.
