Hi,
This is Jose, a Spanish guy who lives in London for a few years. I collect every computer I can put my hands on, especially 8bit and first computers. These machines defined my career since I got my Spectrum 16K at 14, ending as a cybersecurity and cybercrime specialist. Still coding in Python and some 8086 & Z80 assembler and repairing old computers. Most part of my collection is in storage in Spain, waiting for me to return and have the time to keep loving them. Try to get some computers & components on thrift shops and car boot sales without much luck, ending in eBay most of the time.
Hope to be of use here by sharing, helping and supporting you guys.

Jaginus,

This is the sum total of my Spanish I am afraid: "dos cervezas, por favor". It serves me well though!

Dave
Hahahahahaha !!!.
Let me teach you something more useful: "Por favor, no tire su ordenador viejo a la basura !. Demelo a mi !" Meaning: "Please do not trash your old computer. Hand it over to me!"
Hope this works in the case you have Spanish-speaking neighbours :)

I have Brazilian neighbours - so in Portuguese would be perhaps more useful for me :)!

Dave
Hi Dave, then you could use:
"Por favor, nao jogue o seu computador velho no lixo !. Da ele pra mim!" . I also speak Portuguese :)
Cheers mate,
Jose

P.D. - I am beginning to love this community :)

Hello from elsewhere in London. I hope my neighbours aren't binning their old computers! Maybe I should ask just to be safe...

Hi stepleton,
Hi from London.
The first thing I do when I "established relations" with neighbours in a new house is exactly that, using a bit of chit-chat to talk about hobbies. You never know. People are lazy and if you could take the problem out of their hands, it is a win-win:)
For the moment, it didn't work but I do perseverate...
Cheers
