Has anyone used this LPT2USB adapter to connect a vintage PC to a modern HP inkjet?

I'd like to use this to connect a modern HP inkjet to a vintage PC.

If I specify an HP 550C driver in Windows for the inkjet it prints out just fine, so I'd HOPE an old application with HP deskjet or laserjet support would work as well...

You might also try to use the MS-DOS command SHARE after making the USB printer into a network printer.
