I'm well versed in stuffing modern hardware into old cases like that. I've worked with cases half that size.
A 5600G would be absolutely fine in that PC. It has a rear exhaust fan, plus the PSU fan. The exhaust could be made an intake and replace the PSU with a different one with a better fan.
An APU or an IGP would be the best thing you could fit in that case without doing modifications to the case though.
But someone has already gone hog wild restuffing the Hot Wheels PC.

I'd never go that extravagant, it's too obnoxious. Especially with the finger remover 9000 Delta fan. You need a balance between function and usability.
