How do I see how much memory in DOS?

No. Some do; many don't. Even for those that do, some were picky as to the type of 4MB SIMM that could be used.

http://www.bitsavers.org/components...MK82310-PI_Super_Technical_Reference_1991.pdf looks like the generic manual for the PEAK/DM. I don't seen anything that would help figure out which 4Mbx9 SIMM would be best.
I guess I shouldn't have stick my nose in somebody else's thread. But anyways.

Here's the feature set for the chipset on my board. Mentions it takes 4MB SIMMs.
I just tried it, and it does work with 4MB SIMMs in Bank 0.!

I only have 4 ea. 4MB 30-pin SIMMs in-stock, sadly.

I tried it with four of those and four 1MB SIMMs, and it reported 8MB total RAM.
Tried swapping the banks, same result.

It appears it can't deal with dissimilar banks. (perhaps the BIOS)

Well, we will see. I am only following what the manual says in the Table. It states you can use 4- 256k, 4-1MB, or 4- 4MB sticks.
Did you have any luck with those 4mb 30 pin SIMMs? Would love to be able to bump mine over 6mb.

I replaced the cheesy SIMM sockets on my motherboard (some had the latches broken) with new ones with metal latches.
An agonizing job. I also received another set of 4 ea. 4MB 30-pin SIMMs.

My motherboard does work with 8 sticks and reports 32MB RAM.

Mine did not. I'm not sure if it is incompatible memory or not. I mean, its Packard Bell, but I thought at least the manual would be correct (unless there was an update that I didn't have)
