Hi,
I have two motherboards 286 12mhz with 16bit isa port.

1er:
wd286-lpm

2eme
KT216WB

XT-CF Lite 4.1 8bit ISA work fine on this two motherboard, but

this controller ISA16 bit not work, on this two motherboard.
Goldstar prime 2c
LCS-6624G

Is it possible that those controller cards don't work on an AT 286 motherboard?
these two cards work on a 486, the jumpers are well configured so the bios parameters of the two cards.

on the first motherboard I already have a connector FDD, 2 serial port and a parallel port but on the second I need an I/O controller for the diskette, serial port and parallel port.
Do I have to take an I/O card for the second card in ISA 8 Bit?

What kind of I/O controller card do I need for a 286?
Thank you for your help.

The first motherboard has integrated IDE and floppy interfaces, so it’s probably conflicting with the add-in card, if it’s set to the default values.

on the first motherboard for floppy work on integrated connector, but not IDE, is limited for hard disk type.
is for that i have put controller i/o isa 16 bit, but it dont work. there is no conflict, the bios is simple, active floppy or desactivate floppy, for ide disable ide or put type hard disk.

already I just test with the floppy, and it is not recognized on the 16 bit controller i/o card, the jumpers are well positioned.

If the issue is just limited options for hard disk type, then you can probably get around this with a dynamic disk overlay, or you can use the XUB, but instead of using an 8 bit xt-IDE card, you could write the BIOS to an EPROM and stick it in a network card or something like that.

Yes it work with. xt ide, i planned to put network card but on only for network.
My issue is for second motherboard, There is no connector floppy and connector ide integrated to motherboard. Too there is no serial connector and parallel connector. Is for that i need controller isa 16bit or 8bit but this two controller i/o not work

I had the same problem with an ISA 16bit trident graphics card, which worked and rebooted, I put an oti 037c and it works very well, I have the impression that there are problems with the bus isa 16bit, I have to put 8bit cards.

after having put the correct parameters in the bios concerning the disk (C/H/S), it works, the serial and parallel port works except for the floppy disk controller, I tested several cables, two floppy disk drives that work on other PCs, it still does not work no, maybe a bios limitation.
The controller I/O is LCS-6624G.

now everything works, Problem resolved:
I don't know why but the jumpers had to be reversed, B: first and A: second floppy on the controller I/O and put the jumper address 370 and not 3F0.
