I think I fried my Mac :(

Hello,

So today I finally got the cord that will connect my apple imagewriter 2, to my Mac classic. I was so excited to try it out! I loaded up a sample spreadsheet on excel, and clicked print, but it locked up. I couldn’t do anything but move the mouse around, and it stayed like this for around 15 minutes. I decided that I would just restart it, so I turned off the power via the switch in the back, and when I turned it on again the only thing that I could see was a picture of a floppy disk with a blinking question mark on it. Please help me!! What should I do? Is there any way to fix this? Has my impatience lead to the demise of my beloved Mac? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like the hdd shat itself. Do you have any Mac system disks you can boot too?

Do you have a bootable disk? Most likely, the hard disk is in a confused state and running Disk First Aid will clear up the problem.

Unfortunately no, also the floppy disk drive doesn't work. Looks like I have my work cut out for me.

I think the Mac Classic has system 6.x in ROM that you can boot to..

Good point. Boot from ROM by holding down command-option-x-o at startup.
