I have an IBM 5150, Model M Keyboard, with HX-12 PGS Monitor. The IBM 5150 has been in my family since it was purchased new in the 80s. Aside from needing a little internal/external cleaning, the PC and Monitor are in great shape.

The IBM 5150 fully powers on, and so does the HX-12 PGS monitor. I have not been able to get video out of the 5150, I suspect I just bought the wrong cable or don't know what I'm doing. I have no idea if it's the monitor, or the IBM. The Model M keyboard is also in great condition but the right kickstand is broken. I was going to reattach with some plastic glue (it kind of melts the plastic back together) but I left it alone.

There are a lot of floppy disks with the IBM 5150. I'd like to include all the software so these disks can be properly archived.

As far as delivery goes, I don't know if the Monitor should be shipped. I live in central Florida and would be willing to travel up to 6 hours to meetup or deliver these to a location in the USA.

I also have an original Packard Bell Pentium 1 PC that is fully working but I will make a separate post for that at a later time.

You can use a composite cable from the back of a computer to a tv and check for signal to see if the computer is working.
When you power on the computer, does the disk drive light ever come on?

Also, where are you located?

Hey there, how much were you looking to sell all of this for?
What do you think a good offer would be?

That's awesome. I didn't realize it had a composite out, but I guess it does have a card for that. I'll try it tonight. Does it need to be on any special channels or anything?

The PC turns on and I can hear it running and when I flip the power off, the drive light on the left (a little red light) blips really fast. I tried to get a picture of it but could not, it's just too fast. I could do a video maybe. No lights from the drive on the right. When I turn the monitor off, it shows a wave of blue light from the sides down to the center really fast, which I think it always did when it powers down. I also have never left the PC on for very long. I could just let it run a while and see what happens.

I'm in Orlando Florida but often travel to Georgia/Alabama/South Carolina.

Thanks again! Success with this method, can't screw up a composite cable.

Here are some pictures. Opened it up as well to grab some pictures (for the first time in probably 35 years.)

I'm not sure actually. I wouldn't want to low-ball you but I also have to keep in mind the drive from and back to New York to pick it up
Got you, the distance is a bit of an issue.

I would be willing to meet in the Charlotte, North Carolina area in early September if that might work better for you. The trip would normally cost me about 115 dollars in gas but I would eat that cost.

The alternative is I could try to take this to UPS and have them box it up and ship it, but I think that would be over $150 dollars. This is also risky putting it in freight just due to age and a number of other potential issues with shipping. But we could go down that route.

As far as lowballing, I see a similar IBM 5150 for 699.99 on Ebay - I would go less than that. I'm definitely interested in working with you, or anyone else on this board who is interested in this vintage computer stuff, because my worst nightmare is that it ends up in a landfill or I have to drop it at a Goodwill in the next year when I move across country (basically in 8 or 9 months I'm flying to the west coast, no moving trucks this time.)

Watching this thread. If no one else takes it I'll see if I can, not that I need any more stuff lol. But I'd hate for it to end up in the landfill. I'm in NC.

I could possibly do that, but since I already have a 5160, I'd rather see if there are any other takers first.

Heya, thanks for the interest.

I'm definitely looking to offload it all. I did manage to find the copy of DOS 3.1 Floppy I have in here, it's asking me to put DOS in but I'm not going to mess with it any further. I'm assuming this is what was used with it originally since it's in the floppy disk case here.

I would need to up the price if it's a delivery to NC. Could definitely meet in Georgia. Initially, I was offering to cover my own gas to help out ST251 since he lives in New York. Also; September was just a random date I chose. I can do October or early November as well.

Ok. I'll keep an eye on this thread.

Sounds good. Just wanted to toss out some info. Raleigh is an 8.5 hour drive for me. I would be willing to drive that distance. Gas for that trip would be approx. $150. Let me know if you have any offers. I have 3 interested parties, all of which are a lot farther away, so I don't know if it's realistic for me.

Just picked up an IBM XT otherwise I might have bought it if the price was right. And I am not far I live in DeBary! Very near. Good luck with sale.

You're very close. Let me know if you'd like to make a deal. I also have a Pentium 1, fully working condition, 8 megabytes of RAM.
