Is is possible to add an IDE controller to a model 30-286 and have it work? I was thinking of trying my ADP-50l just for grins. Or will I get a conflict with the on board ESDI controller. Please advise add opinions.

As long as your IDE adapter has a BIOS (the sIDE boards work fine as I remember) and you don´t have the original drive plugged in (which deactivates the controller), you should be fine...
